Job summary

Description The Inside Sales Associate is responsible for meeting customer needs by listening, understanding and providing solutions. They are responsible for answering telephone inquiries, processing customer orders, returns and credit until order completion. Order completion includes scheduling delivery and coordination of special-order items, all with communication with dispatch and other team members involved. The Salesperson is also responsible for maintaining stock of in store products and general housekeeping of their department and store front. Job Requirements High School Diploma 3 years experience in a lumber retail environment A strong knowledge of the lumber and building material industry Product knowledge is an asset, not required in order to communicate and demonstrate technical proficiency Must have the proven ability to listen, understand and provide a solution to meet customer needs Experience with computer and web-based systems and ability to become proficient in Point of Sales system and estimating software Valid drivers license Sales Process customer orders placed by telephone, email, text or in person into the Point of Sale (POS) system Estimating product requirement and take-offs from blueprint Following up on all quotes in a timely manner and completing the quote follow up information in the Point of Sale software Write up customer special orders in compliance with store procedures Make occasional calls to job sites or business offices Keep aware of all sales events and special pricing to ensure accurate transactions. Receive and input product in inventory as required. Write up customer special orders in compliance with store procedures.
