Matheson Island is a picturesque and peaceful community with approximately 100 residents, located close to the Narrows on Lake Winnipeg. The Teaching Principal will oversee the educational and administrative functions of Matheson Island School, ensuring effective teaching and learning practices. They will also be responsible for developing and implementing school-based plans and fostering a positive school environment.

Candidates must possess a Bachelor of Education Degree and a valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate, along with at least five years of teaching and administrative experience. A Master's degree in education or a Certificate in School Leadership is preferred, and knowledge of Indigenous Way of Life is considered an asset.
