About GAMEYARD GAMEYARD is a mobile, coach-led laser tag event company based in Milton, Ontario. We have hosted more than 100 events in recent months. We bring the full setup to customer locations, including backyards, gyms, schools, camps, churches, sports team events, corporate events, community spaces, and approved outdoor locations in Milton and within a 100 km radius. Role overview We are looking for a reliable and confident Part-Time Event Lead / Youth Activity Coach to help run GAMEYARD events from start to finish. This is a year-round, event-based part-time/casual role. Hours depend on booked events and are expected to be 8–20 per week. Assignments are typically 2–4+ hours and may take place during evenings, weekends, school breaks, and summer. You will report to GAMEYARD’s Milton base and travel to customer locations using a company vehicle. Responsibilities • Set up the play field by unloading equipment, placing foldable obstacles, preparing the play area, and confirming the setup is safe before players arrive. • Prepare and test Falcon F1 taggers, music, DJ lights, live scoring, batteries, and other event gear. • Welcome players, explain the activity, give clear instructions, manage team rotations, and keep events moving on time. • Coach games by explaining missions, objectives, rules, boundaries, and Base Zone expectations. • Keep gameplay non-contact, organized, respectful, and appropriate for children, teens, adults, and mixed-age groups. • Communicate professionally with organizers and parents, answer basic questions, and provide clear updates. • Pack down after events, organize and load equipment, and leave each space clean. • Record hours, applicable mileage, incidents, equipment issues, customer feedback, and post-event notes. • Follow GAMEYARD standards for punctuality, professionalism, child-safe behaviour, venue rules, and safety. Qualifications • Required experience leading children, teens, or groups in camps, sports, recreation, events, coaching, or youth programs. • Confidence speaking to groups and giving clear instructions. • Strong customer service skills; friendly, fair, calm, and professional with organizers, parents, and players. • Valid Ontario G driver’s licence and comfort driving up to 100 km from Milton. • Reliable availability for evenings, weekends, school breaks, and summer. • Ability to lift and carry approximately 50 lb and remain active during 2–4+ hour event assignments. • Comfort learning event equipment, including taggers, scoring, sound, lighting, and field gear. Compensation and work arrangement • $18–$22 per hour. • Expected hours: 8–20 per week, depending on booked events. • Work location: on the road, reporting from Milton. • Company vehicle provided for event travel.
