Job details

This role will have the authority to make decisions related to compliance with health and safety regulations, while developing policies, delivering training, conducting audits, and promoting a strong safety culture across the organization. What You'll do Enforce company H&S policies and ensure compliance with the OHSA and any other applicable health and safety regulations in jurisdictions where we operate. Develop, revise, and implement health and safety policies aligned with Ontario standards. Design and deliver site-specific safety training programs for employees. Promote hazard recognition and risk assessment practices. Create audit checklists and conduct regular site inspections. Collect, analyze, and report on health and safety performance metrics (e.g., incident rates, training completion). Lead investigations into incidents, identify root causes, and develop corrective/preventive action plans. Stay current with provincial health and safety regulations and industry best practices. Recommend improvements to enhance workplace safety culture. Manage the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC), ensuring compliance with legislative requirements. Lead regular Health & Safety meetings and communicate updates to management and staff. Act as the company’s representative in dealings with regulatory agencies on health and safety matters. Provide input, research, and guidance on health and safety matters to support company operations outside Ontario, including the U.S., as needed. Work closely with the operations team to promote and cultivate a strong health and safety culture across all project sites. What You Have: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field (required). Professional certifications such as CRSP, CSP, or NCSO. JHSC certification (Level II) and experience working with Joint Health and Safety Committees. Minimum 5 years in a Health and Safety role. Demonstrated experience in the construction industry. Strong understanding of Ontario OHSA and associated regulations. Must have a valid G driver’s license with a clean driver's abstract Work Conditions: 100% In-Person Location: Ancaster, ON. Schedule: Monday to Friday Site visits: multiple projects in the GTA and USA. Requirements

Requires a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field, at least five years of health and safety experience, and demonstrated construction industry experience. Candidates must understand Ontario OHSA, hold a valid G driver’s license with a clean abstract, and have JHSC Level II certification; CRSP, CSP, or NCSO certifications are noted.
