Role Description The Structural Engineer will provide design and analysis services for commercial, industrial, multi-residential, and municipal structures, ensuring safety, code compliance, and constructability. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing structural calculations, preparing design drawings and specifications, reviewing shop drawings, and coordinating with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines. The role involves conducting site visits, preparing technical reports, and supporting project leads in delivering projects on schedule and within budget. This is a full-time hybrid role based in Kingston, ON, with a combination of in-office work and some work-from-home flexibility. The Structural Engineer will contribute to continuous improvement of design standards and support mentoring of junior team members where appropriate. Qualifications Strong skills in Structural Engineering and Structural Analysis, with experience applying relevant building codes and standards. Proficiency in Calculations for load, stress, and stability, and ability to document design assumptions clearly. Experience in Civil Engineering concepts related to site, foundation, and infrastructure coordination. Competence in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for preparing and reviewing structural drawings and details. Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; eligibility or registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario is required Ability to interpret construction documents, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and communicate effectively with clients and contractors. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Experience with structural design software (e.g., ETABS, SAP2000, SFRAME, or similar) and familiarity with Canadian building codes is beneficial.
