GFL Environmental is looking for a Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team in Hinton, AB! The Heavy Equipment Operator will assist in the day-to-day field operations to ensure efficient processing of material and site safety standards are met. Primarily Mini Excavators. Willing to work flexible hours. Experience working with Front End Loaders and Dozers and Compactors considered an asset. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, able to work independently, and has landfill experience (considered an asset). Ability to obtain Transfer Station/Landfill Operations Certification if needed. Previous operations, transportation, waste management experience preferred. Key Responsibilities Operate mini excavator to process smaller material in a landfill setting. Ensure operations are performed productively and safely. Minor equipment maintenance, basic mechanical work, and completing paperwork (pre/post-trips, FLHAs, incident reports, etc.). Contribute to a healthy and safe working environment for all. Ensure company policy, systems, and industry related training is followed at all times. Working knowledge of equipment to manage solid waste and/or cover materials.
