Plant Operator (Labourer)

GFL Environmental is looking for Plant Operators to join our growing liquid team out of our Bailieboro location. The Plant Operator will be primarily responsible for day-to-day operations with respect to waste receiving, handling, processing and disposal. The labourer will load and unload waste vehicles including vacuum trucks, tankers, straight trucks and van trailers. Key Responsibilities: Receive all client waste – both bulk liquids/solids and containerized Load and unload waste vehicles including vacuum trucks, tankers, straight trucks and van trailers Operate plant machinery and assist with general maintenance Assist with preparing shipments of hazardous and non-hazardous waste for transport Gain a full understanding and working knowledge of the company’s standard operating procedures (SOPs), and ensure they are followed Notify the Shift Supervisor/General Manager of any defects, damages, mistakes, errors, contamination, spills, other incidents or accidents that are identified Document and report completion status of work assigned by the Shift Supervisor/Manager Sorting hazardous materials, separating them according to specific criteria and directing them to the appropriate areas for processing or shipping Knowledge, Skills & Competencies: Previous hazardous and non-hazardous waste management experience is an asset Must be clean shaven Ability to lift upwards of 50 lbs Offers of employment are conditional upon successful completion of required drug testing. The Plant Operator is responsible for the daily receiving, processing, and disposal of liquid and solid waste. They must also operate plant machinery, assist with maintenance, and prepare hazardous and non-hazardous materials for transport.

Candidates should have experience in waste management and be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. A clean-shaven appearance is required, and forklift certification is considered an asset.
