Job summary
GFL Environmental is looking for a full-time Industrial Services Supervisor to help support our liquids operations in Sudbury, ON. The Supervisor will handle all aspects of day to day operations, by utilizing effective communication skills and time management to prioritize and optimize daily production. They will be required to lead and manage a crew of varying competencies and skills sets. Adhering to company policies and procedures, while maintaining all documentation as required. Key Responsibilities: Provide assistance to customers/outside haulers while on site Operation of all vehicles and equipment in a safe and proper manner Conduct pre shift tailgates Abide by rules and requirements while on customers or GFL property Complete all necessary paperwork ex: daily log book, manifest, BOL’s, rinse out sheets Manage and maintain various data management systems Provide assistance in emergency spill response (E.R.) on and off site Equipment checks daily/weekly/monthly, (Flex App) Maintain P.P.E inventory Minor maintenance on equipment as required Help provide coaching and training to others Ensure coordination with other departments and other shifts to clarify roles and responsibilities. Manage employee complaints and concerns Attend meetings and training as required Oversight of employees to ensure adherence to company policies and procedures and work in a safe environment at all times Participate in the development SOP's, job procedures and investigations Ensure all sign off sheets and memos are completed. Compliance with all regulatory requirements. Shift work will be required to work day shift, afternoon shift, night shift. Also continental shifts according to the latest schedule (12 hour shifts). Knowledge, Skills, Competencies: Confined space entry and rescue an asset WHIMIS/TDG/ REG 347 First Aid/CPR TRAINING Experience and strong knowledge of tractor trailers, vacuum trucks, tankers and roll off trucks Experience and strong knowledge of equipment such as loader, backhoe, skid steer and forklifts Demonstrates a safe operating record No attendance or progressive discipline issues Demonstrates competence handling all aspects of day to day operations Shows effective communication skills to lead and manage a crew Demonstrates effective communication skills to delegate daily assigned duties 2 years minimum in the waste industry with progressive responsibilities recommended.
