Job Title Shipper/Defoiler (Overnights) About This Role: Giant Tiger Wholesale is looking to hire a permanent Hybrid Shipper/Defoiler for our new, fully automated 660,000 square foot distribution centre in Johnstown, ON! Paste this link in your browser and check out our video here: https://youtu.be/fdz66L7FBgU What You'll Be Doing: Defoiler Accountabilities: Scans the iLPN into Symbotic; Ensures there are no big gaps between boxes and that each tier is even and consistent with no partial tiers; Coordinates the removal of empty pallets; Removes plastic wrap, tape, straps, etc; Ensures higher priority replenishments are inducted first; Trouble shoots rejected pallets; Stops and troubleshoots crushed and/or dropped boxes; Ensure that pallets meet the maximum height, width, and overhang requirements. Shipper Accountabilities: Drive forklifts and low lift pallet jacks through high trafficked areas with a focus on safe and efficient operation Verify and organize wrapped pallets Prepare and lane wrapped pallets, ensuring they in the correct pallet location Load wrapped pallets onto trucks with care and precision Maintain a daily productivity count Support other departments when necessary as directed by the supervisor What You'll Bring: Conduct operations in a manner which promotes safety and complies with Ontario Safety and Health Act (OSHA), and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) standards Capable of standing, walking, climbing stairs and repetitively lifting heavy objects throughout shift Comfortable in a noisy, fast-paced environment Punctual, adaptable, and spatially aware of surroundings Strong attention to detail Able to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor Completion of High School Basic math and PC skills As part of your onboarding, you will be required to complete three days of paid machine training and successfully obtain in-house certification. Successful machine certification is a mandatory condition of employment as it is an occupational requirement. Assets You May Have: Experience with Voice Picking or Manhattan Warehouse Management System Experience driving an electric double pallet truck, forklift, or similar machine Experience in a warehouse environment Class G2 or higher driver’s license Positive attitude When You'll Work: Tuesday - Friday, 8:00pm - 6:30am In this role, you will perform the Shipper role on Tuesday & Wednesday and perform the Defoiler role on Thursday & Friday.
