Job summary

ASD-W Qualifications Required for EST-School Counsellor Positions ASD-W will be staffing EST-SC positions with individuals who have the following qualifications and demonstrated skills and knowledge. ASD-W will consider suitability of candidates for EST-SC positions along with qualifications. This will ensure appropriate and timely interventions are provided to students and that teachers have access to skilled ESS members. NOTE: EST-SC positions are not to be combined with Administration FTE in schools. Mandatory documents to be uploaded include: 1. Current resume and cover letter specific to the position you are applying for 2. Appropriate Certificates ex. EECD School Counsellor Certificate 3. Transcripts if currently enrolled in a Masters program. 4. Recent Performance evaluations. Only applicants who meet all of the following screening criteria will be placed on the eligibility list for EST-SC. * Certified School Counsellor (as per EECD Criteria). Ensure certificate is uploaded to Fusion https://www2.gnb.ca/content/dam/gnb/Departments/ed/pdf/K12/new-brunswick [https://www2.gnb.ca/content/dam/gnb/Departments/ed/pdf/K12/new-brunswick] OR Currently enrolled in a Master’s program in Counselling with an established completion date * Possess a Valid Teachers Certificate 5 or 6 Teachers holding a “B” contract and the required qualifications, skills and knowledge can be placed into any vacated or new position throughout the district in accordance with the collective agreement. This may mean a one year, or less, transfer to an opportunity outside of their current school. Teachers who are “D with recall rights” or “supply teachers” and have the required qualifications, skills and knowledge can be placed into any vacated or new position throughout the district in accordance with the collective agreement. In the event the School District cannot secure a suitable or preferred teacher with the above qualifications, it remains the discretion of the Employer to change the education and/or experience requirements.

Requirements

Candidates must be a Certified School Counsellor per EECD criteria or currently enrolled in a Master's program in Counselling. A valid Teacher's Certificate is also mandatory.
