About The Role The role of Temporary Works Engineer (TWE) will be responsible for producing and checking structural design calculations for a wide variety of construction engineering solutions including formwork and falsework design. The TWE role will also draft and produce the drawings. This will be done on a range of different projects as the role will provide technical support to the Project Teams and Estimators during both the pre-construction and execution phases. The role will become familiar with Graham’s Temporary Works Standard and work with project teams to assess and mitigate risk involving temporary works including on-site compliance checks where necessary. Candidate will need to be proficient in AutoCAD, knowledgeable in structural design, and have experience in bridge or concrete construction. 3D Earthwork modelling in Trimble, or other software is an asset. As a Temporary Works Engineer At Graham You Will Work with Superintendents, Project Managers and Estimators to plan safe and efficient construction activities in Graham’s Infrastructure and Water Groups Complete structural design and checking of temporary works items including formwork and falsework for a wide variety of projects Draft and review drawings for temporary works items and concepts using AutoCAD Temporary works items will include (but not limited to): Signboards, hoardings and fencing; working platforms; ground support conditions; bridge jacking and supports; bridge bearing installation plans; structural steel and pre-cast concrete erection work designs; formwork and falsework design; scaffold and work access designs Liaison with third party Engineers to communicate site construction design concepts Provide structural checks and drawing updates for changes to the temporary works designs Conduct site inspections of temporary works items for compliance with drawings Become familiar with, and champion Graham’s Temporary Works Standard for ongoing projects Education/ Qualifications Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering Structural experience required 3-5 years relevant experience in construction formwork design Proficient in AutoCAD If this sounds like you, then Graham may be the right fit.
