Location of Work: Mistissini Status: Permanent Full-time Closing Date: September 11, 2026 Core Functions The Administrative Agent is responsible for managing the reception desk and providing comprehensive administrative support to the Department of Commerce and Industry. More specifically, the incumbent assists in preparing correspondences, meeting minutes, and reports, responds to inquiries, schedules appointments, maintains files, arranges meetings and amenities, screens calls, and provides general administrative assistance. This role also overseas Business Registry operations by processing business registrations and certifications, ensuring accuracy and compliance, and assisting applicants throughout the registration process. Functional Responsibilities: Manage the reception desk and help visitors and callers in a courteous and professional manner. Prepare correspondences and meeting minutes, ensuring accurate documentation of discussions. Respond to inquiries from department staff and external stakeholders in a timely manner. Schedule appointments and arrange meetings for department personnel. Make travel reservations for department staff. Maintain organized filing systems and ensure documents are readily accessible. Manage the receiving and processing of invoices and coordinate with employees, suppliers, and the department’s financial officer. Ensure all registrations are complete and have the required documentation. Support the entire department by providing administrative assistance to team members and coordinating departmental initiatives. Assist with the preparation of department reports. Provide help in reception duties by screening, directing, and answering calls. Administrative Responsibilities: Maintain adequate inventory of office supplies and ensure proper file management of documents for efficient retrieval. Provide advice and assist team members and partners in preparing various reports and documents. Work with Business Registry applicants to provide advice and steer them through the registration requirements. Maintain the Business Registry database, including the opportunities section of the registry. Reporting Responsibilities: Collaborate with the department direction and management in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reports as required. Other Responsibilities: Maintain up-to-date knowledge and skills in area(s) of responsibility. Perform other duties as required. QUALIFICATIONS Education and Certification: High School Diploma Certificate in Office Administration (preferred) Experience: One year or less of relevant experience in a related field. Languages: Fluency in English and verbal Cree . Fluency in French is an asset Knowledge and Abilities: Customer-focused and service-oriented. Proven ability to communicate effectively. Proven ability to be discreet and maintain confidentiality. Strong writing, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy. Proven time management skills and ability to respect deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products. Additional Requirements: Typical office setting where there are no unusual physical demands. Willingness to travel occasionally. The Cree Nation Government may, at its discretion, waive any or all of the aforementioned requirements if a suitable candidate who is a JBNQA beneficiary accepts to follow a training plan determined by the Cree Nation Government as a condition of employment.
