Job summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented LegalAssistant to provide hands-on legal and administrative support to LegalCounsel. This role is integral to the day-to-day functioning of the Canadianteam and will involve close collaboration with internal business stakeholders. The successful candidate will assist with, among otherthings, contract review and management, legal operations, matter intake andtracking, and ongoing follow-up to ensure legal processes are completedefficiently and in alignment with the global legal team’s practices andpriorities, and general ad hoc matters. The team works primarily remotely, with in-officeattendance required from time to time within the Toronto area. Provide overall support, both legal andadministrative, to Legal Counsel including but not limited to: Reviewing, proofreading, and providing initialcomments on contracts and legal documents Assisting with the contract lifecycle, includingtracking drafts, coordinating signatures, and ensuring fully executed copiesare obtained and properly stored Managing assigned matters within the legal portal,including opening matters, maintaining documentation, and tracking status Assisting Legal Counsel in responding to internalinquiries by preparing drafts, gathering information, and addressing routinerequests as assigned Assisting with corporate records and governancematters, including drafting minutes and resolutions where required File management, document control, and generaladministrative support Other ad hoc matters To be successful in the Legal Assistant position,an individual must have the following: Education And Experience Minimum 4 years’ experience as a legalassistant in a Canadian law firm Legal Assistant equivalentdegree/diploma Experience within a corporatedepartment of a law firm or in-house is preferred Competencies Excellentattention to detail Ability tomanage their workload Ability towork in a fast paced environment Ability towork under pressure and to tight deadlines Ability towork independently & within a team Microsoftoffice packages including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams Corporatelaw experience preferred Experiencesupporting commercial contracts is an asset This position offers an annual salary of$60,000, along with a competitive benefits package that includes extendedhealth and dental coverage, generous vacation entitlement, professionaldevelopment opportunities, and additional employee benefits designed to supportyour well-being and career growth.
