This role is responsible for fabricating sheet metal components used in the construction of air handling units, utilizing CNC machinery and various metalworking tools to help deliver the highest quality products to our customers. Competitive pay: $21.80 - $30.00/hour, based on experience Full-time, year round employment Heated and air-conditioned work environment Employer-paid Medical, Dental, and Life Insurance benefits Paid holidays and wellness programs Company-sponsored social and team-building events Safety boot reimbursement On the job training and skill development Cross-training opportunities across departments Opportunities to take on increased responsibility as your skills grow Opportunities to advance into Trainer, Lead Hand and Supervisor roles A company culture built on teamwork, respect and continuous improvement Your Responsibilities: Machinery Operation: Safely operate CNC machines and metalworking tools (brakes and shears) to fabricate sheet metal components according to production specifications Blueprint Reading: Accurately read and interpret blueprints to guide the precise fabrication of sheet metal parts Measurement and Tool Use: Use measuring tools and perform calculations to ensure accurate cuts and bends Material Handling: Load and unload materials into machines, ensuring proper alignment and secure positioning for safe and efficient operation Independent Work: Perform tasks independently with minimal supervision to meet production goals Team Collaboration: Work effectively in a team environment with strong verbal and written communication skills Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) What We’re Looking For: Experience Minimum 1 year of experience working with sheet metal (preferred) Minimum 1 year of manufacturing experience (preferred) Skills & Qualifications Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn Ability to read and interpret drawings and measurements Strong attention to detail Ability to perform physically demanding work Strong communication and teamwork skills Reliable transportation required Job Details: Job Type: Full-time, Indoor Location: Kingston, ON (On-Site) Starting Wage: $21.80 - $30.00 per hour, based on experience Shift Schedule: Rotating early mornings and afternoon shifts Monday – Friday: 5:45 am – 2:15 pm Monday – Thursday: 2:30 pm – 12:30 am Every other Friday off Weekend shifts not required Occasional overtime available based on production requirements Grow With Us At Haakon, we believe in developing our employees for long-term success.
