The role of the Medical Laboratory Technologist involves serological testing in Transfusion Medicine, antibody investigation, carrying out quality control and quality assurance in Transfusion Practice, inventory control of blood products, preparation and storage of blood products and appropriate utilization of the Laboratory Information System in Transfusion Medicine. Communication with other healthcare professionals related to Transfusion Medicine practices. 1. Current registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario 2. Successful completion of an accredited MLT program 3. Recent (within the past year) experience in Transfusion Medicine 4. Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills

What you’ll do

Requirements

Candidates must hold current registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario and have successfully completed an accredited MLT program. Recent experience in Transfusion Medicine within the past year is required.
