Hand Up From Hunger Toronto (Hand Up Toronto) is a Not-for-profit organization that is based out of Toronto, Ontario. Our prime mission is to target areas of need within the Grand Toronto Area (GTA) and travel directly to that specific area to distribute "care packages"​ filled with nutritional food and other hygienic products. // Vision Statement As an organization, we strive towards a society where all individuals have access to nourishment, regardless of resources. We will foster growth and productivity by securing nutrition and offering meals to all in need, regardless of race, sex or creed. // Mission Statement We are not here to offer handouts; we are here providing a hand up to those in need within the Greater Toronto area. As an organization, we focus on areas where individuals lack the capability to acquire proper nutrition and other basic necessities. We will go to those areas that require a hand up, providing ready-made meals, nutritional supplements and hygiene necessities. We will work with communities to nurture those in need of support. Our ultimate goal is to create a society without Hunger. // Operations Instead of being a food bank, stationed in one place, waiting for the people to come in, hoping they come in, we go to the source of those in need. We are a mobile service that strategically targets priority areas and travels directly there. Many food banks are not in close proximity to many priority neighborhoods, thus making it difficult for families to make the trip. That stops now.
