Hand Up Toronto is looking for a Fundraising Board Member who’s excited to bring fresh ideas, build connections, and help strengthen the future of our organization. You’ll work alongside our Board and Executive Team to shape strategy, explore new fundraising and grant opportunities, build partnerships, and help create sustainable funding for the work we do. Here is what it will look like: Co-develop, oversee, and advocate the mission and strategic plan for the organization Lead the research, development and fostering of fundraising streams through all available avenues Maintain effective partnerships and communication with donors, the organization’s members and its stakeholders Maintain fiscal responsibility, including participating and planning strategic fundraising initiatives, managing income, and approving and monitoring annual budgets Regularly attends board meetings (monthly) and plan to serve for a minimum of two years term Support the executive team as necessary in the interim or transition period Help in the recruitment of exceptional new members to the board and executive team Ensure transparency in all communication to members, stakeholders and the public Evaluate the organization’s work in relation to a strategic plan What you bring: You know your way around fundraising, whether that’s grants, sponsorships, donor engagement, partnerships, or a mix of it all. You’re a creative thinker, a relationship builder, and someone who’s excited to help turn ideas into action.
