View All Vacancies Communication Support Workers - 1 permanent post (36 hours per week); 1 part time maternity cover post (14 hours per week) - to cover term times Foundation and Supported Learning - HC Location: Harrow Weald and Harrow-on-the-Hill Campuses Salary: £30,814 to £35,511 Actual salary for 36 hours per week, 39 weeks per year - pro rata for part time post Working days for the part time maternity cover post are Thursdays and Fridays Post Type: Full Time Term Time Release Date: Monday 28 September 2026 Closing Date: Sunday 11 October 2026 Interview Date: To be confirmed Reference: 2207 We are seeking to appoint two Communication Support Workers – one full time permanent role and one part time maternity cover role, to provide support for deaf and hard of hearing students at Harrow College. You will ensure that deaf and hard of hearing students are supported in class and are able to gain maximum access to the curriculum. You will promote awareness of the support services within the college and encourage awareness of the needs of deaf and hard of hearing learners with both staff and students. You will be qualified to a minimum of British Sign Language Level 3, possess good signing skills and have experience of working with deaf and/or hard of hearing people, ideally in an educational environment. Good team working skills and a flexible approach to meeting the needs of all students are also required. The working days for the part time maternity cover role are expected to be Thursdays and Fridays. Please note, we are unable to offer sponsorship for this role. Please note: for individuals who start a term time only role after 1st September, the salary will be pro-rated from the start date to the end of this academic year (31st August 2027). This ensures that the correct entitlement to pay and holiday pay relative to the portion of the year worked. This will be paid in equal monthly instalments until 31 August. The salary will revert to the normal arrangements as stated in the advert at the start of the following academic year. Requirements
