DIRECTOR PIECE, PART & COMPONENT REPAIR ROLE OVERVIEW The Director, Piece Part & Component Repair will provide operational leadership for a large, technically sophisticated aviation component repair organization based in Montreal, Quebec. This highly visible leadership role will be responsible for shop-floor operations, people leadership, safety, quality, turnaround time, productivity, cost, continuous improvement, and overall operating performance. Reporting directly to the General Director – Canada, the Director will lead an experienced organization of supervisors, engineers, skilled tradespeople, technicians, and specialized repair professionals while partnering closely with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Human Resources, Finance, and operational leadership. This individual will join an established operation experiencing significant growth and will be responsible for strengthening operating discipline, developing leadership capability, improving processes, and building the scalable operating structure required for continued expansion. The successful candidate will be a visible, hands-on leader who builds credibility with an experienced workforce while creating greater accountability, collaboration, and consistency across the operation. RESPONSIBILITIES Lead Piece Part & Component Repair operations in alignment with business objectives, production requirements, and customer commitments. Drive Health & Safety, Quality, Turnaround Time, Productivity, Cost, and delivery performance. Lead and develop supervisors and a large technical, skilled-trades, and repair workforce. Drive Quality, 6S, ES&H, Root Cause / Corrective Action, and continuous improvement initiatives. Manage departmental budgets, resource planning, and support CAPEX initiatives. Maintain constructive relationships within a unionized workforce and foster a culture of accountability and collaboration. Partner across Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations to support new repair capabilities and broader business priorities. REQUIREMENTS 10+ years of progressive leadership experience within aviation, aerospace, MRO, engine maintenance, component repair, or a similarly complex technical repair environment. Proven leadership of large technical, skilled-trades, or shop-floor organizations. Direct accountability for operational KPIs including Quality, Safety, Turnaround Time, Productivity, Cost, and delivery. Strong knowledge of repair operations, Root Cause / Corrective Action, and continuous improvement. Demonstrated ability to lead change, develop teams, and build credibility across all levels of an organization. Experience in a unionized environment strongly preferred. Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or equivalent industry experience; master's degree preferred. French is an asset, with a willingness to learn expected. Requires 10 or more years of progressive leadership experience in aviation, aerospace, MRO, engine maintenance, component repair, or a similarly complex technical repair environment, including leadership of large technical or shop-floor teams and accountability for operational KPIs. A bachelor's degree in business or engineering, or equivalent industry experience, is required; a master's degree is preferred, and unionized-environment experience is strongly preferred.
