SUMMARY: The Mississauga office is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our Water Business Unit team. This role will involve leading a small team while collaborating with larger multidisciplinary teams across project delivery and business development pursuits throughout the company. The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of low- and medium-voltage power distribution systems, motor control concepts and applications, electrical protection and control systems, and standby power solutions. The candidate will also have experience in all phases of project delivery, including detailed design, construction contract administration, construction support, and commissioning activities for municipal water and wastewater treatment facilities and related industrial infrastructure projects. This role requires both technical leadership and project execution capabilities. The successful candidate will lead electrical engineering activities on major projects and may also serve as a Project Manager for electrical upgrade and rehabilitation projects. RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead a team of Electrical Engineers, Designers, co-ops and CAD personnel in the successful execution of electrical engineering projects. Provide technical leadership and guidance to the electrical engineering team. Mentor Engineers-in-Training (EITs), junior engineers, and designers. Prepare and review engineering calculations. Develop electrical equipment specifications and procurement packages. Review vendor drawings and technical data for compliance with project requirements and specifications. Prepare detailed design, construction, installation, and procurement specifications. Develop conceptual designs, feasibility studies, technical reports, and proposals. Foster effective communication within project teams and with clients. Monitor and track project performance metrics. Support proposal development and business development activities. Lead proposals and pursuits, as appropriate. Participate in client relationship management and project delivery planning. Act as Electrical Discipline Lead on major projects. Serve as Project Manager for electrical infrastructure projects, where appropriate. QUALIFICATIONS: Engineer with 10+ years of relevant experience Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) or eligibility for registration with a Canadian provincial engineering association. Experience with municipal water and wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, reservoirs, lift stations, and related infrastructure projects is strongly preferred. Strong understanding of electrical systems for water and wastewater treatment facilities, including power distribution, motor control centres (MCCs), variable frequency drives (VFDs), standby power systems, and instrumentation interfaces. Knowledge of applicable industry codes, standards, and regulations. Proficiency with electrical engineering software such as ETAP, SKM, EasyPower, ASPEN, and AutoCAD/SPEL. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary project teams. Strong organizational, leadership, and project management skills. Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications. Base salary range: $115,000 - $165,000 At Hatch, we are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.
