Residential Property Accountant - Ottawa (Hybrid 3 days in office | 2 days work from home) Compensation Package: $65,000-$70,000 + annual bonus + 3 weeks vacation + benefits package + RSP match Your new roles and responsibilities: As an accurate and detail-oriented individual, the Property Accountant is responsible for the full cycle of accounting duties of the assigned properties within the portfolio but not limited to: Performing weekly bank reconciliations. Preparing monthly cash flows. Monthly Financial Statement preparation. Performing monthly account analysis and reconciliation. Analyzing monthly variances and drafting explanations. Assisting Property Managers and Regional Managers with tenant inquiries. Reviewing tenant account receivable and following up with respect to collections, bad debt allowance and write offs. Preparing monthly HST and QST remittances. Assisting Property Management with preparation of annual property budgets. Preparing and processing of non-automated transactions as required. Reviewing, coding and approving invoices in accounting system. Assisting Property Management with Ontario Above Guideline Increase applications and processing. Performing year end procedures Drafting and/or updating internal process documentation. Assisting with annual filing requirements (i.e.. Energy Star, MPAC, etc.). Communicating with internal and external partners as required. Requirements for success: College diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. Minimum of 3 years of experience in general accounting, preferably within the residential property management industry. Strong organizational and time management skills. Demonstrates curiosity, critical thinking, and a solution-oriented approach to problem-solving. Strong analytical and accounting skills with exceptional attention to detail. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion. Strong customer service and relationship-building skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and SharePoint. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Maintains a positive attitude and demonstrates enthusiasm and professionalism. Thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.
