Position #: 9014655 Expected Start Date: November 09, 2026 Union: SUN Facility: Royal University Hospital City/Town: Saskatoon Department: Cardiac Catheterization Diagnostic Services Type: Full-time regular FTE: 1 Shift Information: Days Number of Hours per Rotation: 28 shifts of 8 hours per 6 weeks Relief: No Float: No Hours of Work: Standard Hours Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Nurse Practitioner $52.590 to $62.910 Travel Required: No Job Description: The Structural Heart Nurse Practitioner (NP) is an advanced practice nurse who provides comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, and follow-up care for patients with structural heart disease. Working autonomously and collaboratively within the Structural Heart Team, the NP manages patients throughout the care continuum, from referral and pre-procedural assessment to post-procedural follow-up. The NP supports patients undergoing structural heart interventions, including but not limited to TAVI/TAVR, LAAO, TEER, MitraClip, and other advanced structural heart therapies. In partnership with physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, and community providers, the NP advances patient outcomes through clinical care, education, quality improvement, research, and patient advocacy. Human Resources Exemption: No Experience: * Five (5) full-time years of experience as a Registered Nurse * Two years (2) full-time experience working in cardiology Education: * Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing * Masters Degree in Nursing with clinical specialization appropriate to the practice area * Canadian Nursing Association Certification in clinical practice area Knowledge and Abilities: * Enhanced knowledge of clinical assessment, diagnosis and treatment of common illnesses and stable chronic diseases as well as cardiovascular disease and heart failure * Knowledge and application of leadership strategies in order to lead, encourage, advise and collaborate with colleagues to achieve client/patient, team and organizational goals within available resources * Knowledge and application of advanced communications strategies and approaches to adapt to multiple and ever changing situations and environments * Knowledge and application of community development and facilitation strategies * Knowledge and application of conflict resolution techniques * Knowledge and application of research processes and program evaluation * Demonstrates application of critical thinking skills to responsible decision-making. * Demonstrates ability to implement holistic, comprehensive care to individuals, groups, families and the community. * Demonstrated ability to work independently with a high degree of self-direction * Demonstrates patient and family focused and trauma informed care. * Demonstrates clinical/health assessment, diagnostic, pharmacotherapeutic and therapeutic intervention skills working to the scope of practice of the RN(NP) role. * Demonstrates ability to work in a team, successfully promoting collaborative practice with other health professionals in acute and ambulatory settings. * Demonstrates commitment to continual learning and professional development. * Demonstrates an understanding of medical and psychosocial management of chronic diseases. * Demonstrates communication skills, both verbal and nonverbal, that creates positive outcomes, builds relationships, and supports the change process. * Demonstrates leadership, confidence and autonomy in the RN (NP) role. * Demonstrates organizational capacity to plan, implement and evaluate multiple assessments, projects and deadlines at the individual, group and community levels. * Demonstrates educational skills and strategies that produce positive healthy outcomes for individuals, groups and communities. * Demonstrates ability to work in a team, successfully promoting collaborative practice with other health professionals on the Cardioscience team. * Demonstrates capacity for visioning, goal setting and utilizing change theory. * Demonstrates empathy, trust and respect in the provision of care. * Demonstrates ability and initiative in handling difficult situations resulting in productive outcomes. * Demonstrates ability and flexibility to adapt to changing situations and environments. * Demonstrates commitment to continuing learning and professional development. * Be a champion of patient and family centered care, including sensitive to diverse cultures and preferences, and particularly for the traditional care needs of those patients of First Nations or Metis ancestry, patient advocacy and social justice concerns. * Demonstrates the ability to integrate and evaluate pertinent data (from multiple sources) to problem-solve effectively (critical thinking). * Practice as an expert in the area and maintain that expertise through ongoing professional development.
