Human Resources Exemption: No Experience * Experience working with mental health and addiction community outreach Education * Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) Licenses * Valid Class 5 driver's license Competencies * Cultural competency * Computer skills Knowledge and Abilities * Ability to identify, implement and evaluate areas of client difficulty. * Highly developed written and oral communication skills * Ability to enter and retrieve data in computer database systems * Able to work independently in a self motivated manner & respond under pressure * Knowledge of Recovery Philosophy * Knowledge in various mental health and addiction and harm reduction strategies * Exp. in mental health & addictions community outreach & crisis interventions * Ability to provide public/educational presentations * Ability to work in a multidisciplinary setting. * Ability to formulate evidence-based intervention based on clinical presentation * Public relation skills with the ability to maintain effective work relationships * Ability to prepare reports in a clear, concise and timely manner. * Knowledge of community resources including treatment programs & support agencies * Establish and maintain good interpersonal relationships * Knowledge and practical application of the Mental Health Services Act and Health Information Protection Act and other legislation * Knowledge in various intervention strategies for individuals and groups * Demonstrates critical thinking, problem solving, conflict resolution skills * Knowledge of assessment, triage, treatment and case management.
