The ideal candidate is a qualified Fleischmeister, Meat Technologist, or highly experienced meat industry professional with strong practical expertise and the personality to become a visible technical ambassador for Hela Canada. This person should not only know how to produce meat products, but also how to explain, improve, present, and market this expertise to customers and industry partners. Professional Background The candidate should ideally come from one of the following backgrounds: German or European meat industry Craft butchery with strong technical competence Industrial meat processing Sausage and processed meat production Meat product development Seasoning, functional blend, or application technology Meat technology education or training Technical sales support in the meat or food ingredients industry A German Fleischmeister qualification would be highly attractive, but the position should remain open to strong candidates with comparable meat technology or product development expertise. Technical Skills The candidate should have solid knowledge in several of the following areas: Sausage production Cooked meat products Cured meat products Fresh and value-added meat applications Marinades, seasonings, spice blends, and functional ingredients Meat processing technology Product texture, colour, flavour, binding, yield, and shelf-life Practical troubleshooting in production environments Small-scale lab trials and scale-up to industrial production Product adaptation for customer-specific requirements Personal Profile The best candidate should be: Hands-on and practical Creative and imaginative Technically strong but commercially aware Confident in front of customers Able to teach, train, and explain Open-minded and internationally oriented Interested in North American food culture and meat products Comfortable working in a role that is partly technical, partly customer-facing, and partly representative Able to work independently while integrating into an existing R&D and sales team Communication & Customer Orientation This person should be able to build trust with customers by demonstrating real practical know-how. The role requires someone who can speak credibly with production managers, butchers, R&D teams, QA staff, sales teams, and business leaders. The ideal candidate can explain technical topics in a clear, practical, and convincing way and enjoys helping customers solve real production challenges.
