Software Engineer (Accounts Payable)

Helcim is searching for a Senior Software Engineer to help develop the next generation of payments technology. As a Senior Engineer you will be building and deploying high-quality software solutions. You will continually be involved in mentoring and coaching, ensuring you and your team are delivering at a high level. On this team, you're building the systems that handle what we owe- vendor payments, partner payouts, and everything the business needs to pay out. We make sure money flows out on time, to the right people, for the right amounts. From invoice processing to payment execution, we own the full accounts payable lifecycle. We work tight with EQ on the money movement side, but our focus is the outbound flow- making sure Helcim stays solid with vendors and partners. The impact is real- what we ship keeps the lights on and relationships strong across the business. * 6+ years of professional software development experience. * Education should include a Bachelor's, technical degree, bootcamp or other certifications in computer programming, computer science or object-oriented software development, or equivalent experience. * Highly proficient in PHP, Laravel + some Front end javascript experience (Vue/React/Angular/Vanilla JS). * Strong experience in system design for backend services, including caching strategies, fault tolerance, and performance optimization. * Proven ability to optimize SQL queries and large-scale data workflows to handle high transaction volumes. * Familiarity with cloud-native databases and BigQuery is a plus, as well as experience in Golang. * Experience with Docker and Kubernetes, or other containerization software(s). ✨ Not checking every box? The Senior Software Engineer will design and maintain scalable, high-performance APIs for the accounts payable lifecycle while mentoring junior developers. They will also build event-driven systems and manage cloud infrastructure to ensure reliable payment processing.

Candidates must have 6+ years of professional software development experience and proficiency in PHP and Laravel. Strong expertise in system design, SQL optimization, and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes is required.
