Purpose Of Position Hexagon’s Integrated Machine Systems division is looking for a Team Lead, Product to spearhead the adaptation of our products to meet market requirements and ensure a seamless handover to supply chain — spanning all Integrated Machine Systems hardware, PCB, and quality control aspects. Reporting directly to the Hardware Manager at Integrated Machine Systems, you’ll work cross-functionally with our R&D, Production, Procurement, Product, Quality Assurance, and Business Development teams to deliver high quality products enabling safe control of heavy machinery. The Location: Hexagon is a global company with offices around the world. This position is in Dowling, ON and offers a hybrid work environment. Major Areas Of Responsibility Leading product engineering from the requirements stage to the transfer of designs into production. Understand and transform business requirements into clear product requirements. Manage the entire product lifecycle, including change management and technical documentation. Define manufacturing and quality assurance instructions in cooperation with production. Oversee all qualification tests required for lifecycle-induced changes. Enable quality assurance and develop test benches to uphold our high-quality standards. Coordinate and monitor relevant certification processes (ISO 9001, CE, EMC/RED, FCC, environmental testing, and others). Provide disciplinary and technical leadership to the product team while collaborating closely with all other departments. Knowledge And Experience - Required Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a comparable technical field, with a solid engineering background. 5+ years of relevant experience in product engineering within a technology-intensive environment. Proven leadership experience managing interdisciplinary teams and complex technical projects. Demonstrated success transferring development projects into series production, with a strong understanding of the interfaces between development, production, and quality assurance. Knowledge And Experience - Desired Able to work in a collaborative, multi-site, team environment Confident Self-starter Detail oriented person able to follow complex instructions with a “first-time right” attitude Experience with the operation of heavy machinery used in mining or other related industries Experience working with an ISO 9001 environment would be considered an asset A structured, analytical approach with a high degree of precision, responsibility, and quality awareness.
