Hi-Tech Business Systems Ltd. is seeking a permanent full-time Copier Service Technician (Electronic Service Technician – Business Equipment) to join our team in Grande Prairie, Alberta. As a Field Copier Service Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of printers, photocopiers, and related office equipment at customer locations throughout Northwestern Alberta and Northeastern British Columbia. This position is based in Grande Prairie and services customers in Dawson Creek, Fort St. John, Peace River, High Level, La Crete, High Prairie, Slave Lake, and surrounding areas. Frequent travel and occasional overnight stays are required. Job Duties The successful candidate will: Set up, install, configure, and test printers, photocopiers, multifunction devices, and related office equipment. Inspect equipment to determine maintenance and repair requirements. Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, electronic, mechanical, and network connectivity issues. Install, maintain, and repair printers, photocopiers, and related office equipment. Replace or repair defective parts and components using hand, power, and specialized tools. Test and inspect electronic components using diagnostic equipment and multimeters. Adjust, align, calibrate, and repair equipment according to manufacturer specifications, technical manuals, and schematics. Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled service inspections. Deliver and install equipment at customer locations. Provide on-site and remote technical support to customers. Train customers on the safe and effective operation of office equipment. Complete service reports, work orders, maintenance documentation, and test reports. Maintain a high standard of customer service while working independently in the field. Education Completion of secondary school is required. Post-secondary education in electronics, information technology, computer systems technology, or a related technical field is considered an asset. Experience Minimum 2 years of experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing printers, photocopiers, multifunction devices, or related electronic business equipment. Experience diagnosing electronic and mechanical equipment faults. Experience providing technical support and customer service in a field service environment. Required Skills Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics. Knowledge of electronic and mechanical systems. Computer networking and IP configuration knowledge. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong customer service skills. Requirements Valid Class 5 Driver's License. Clean Driver's Abstract. Criminal Record Check. Ability to travel throughout Alberta and British Columbia. Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. English language proficiency (spoken and written). Preferred Certifications (Asset) Manufacturer service certifications for Ricoh, Sharp, Konica Minolta, Kyocera, Canon, Xerox, Lexmark, HP, Toshiba or equivalent. CompTIA A+ Certification. CompTIA Network+ Certification. Electronics Technician Diploma or Certificate. Vendor-specific printer and copier repair certifications. Position Details Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time Hours: 40 hours per week Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Location: 10115 99 Avenue, Grande Prairie, Alberta This is a in-house position and you will need to live in the Grande Prairie area.
