The hotel provides elegant banquet spaces for up to 1,200 guests, a serene Zen Garden, and off-site catering options for special events. Conveniently located about 30 minutes from Pearson Airport, the hotel is close to Main Street Unionville, Vaughan Mills, Canada’s Wonderland, and downtown Toronto. Role Description The Banquet Supervisor is a full-time, on-site role based at Hilton Toronto/Markham Suites Conference Centre & Spa in Toronto, ON. This role oversees the setup, execution, and breakdown of banquet events, ensuring that all function rooms are prepared according to event specifications and brand standards. The Banquet Supervisor coordinates and leads banquet staff, assigns duties, and monitors service quality to support guest satisfaction during meetings, weddings, and other special events. Daily responsibilities include liaising with the banquet kitchen and sales teams, managing timing and flow of service, resolving guest issues promptly, and maintaining cleanliness, safety, and presentation of all banquet areas. The role also involves monitoring inventory of banquet supplies, supporting training of team members, and ensuring compliance with food safety and workplace health and safety guidelines. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Supervisory Skills, including team leadership, task delegation, and performance monitoring. Candidates should possess Food Service capabilities, such as knowledge of banquet operations, food handling standards, and coordination with kitchen staff. Candidates should possess Customer Service and Customer Satisfaction skills, with a focus on delivering courteous, timely, and responsive service to guests. Candidates should possess effective Communication skills, including clear verbal communication and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. Relevant experience in hotel banquets, catering, or event operations, preferably in an upscale or full-service environment. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on event schedules. Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of health, safety, and food hygiene regulations; Smart Serve or equivalent certification is an asset. High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in hospitality or a related field is an advantage.
