Project Description Join Hiredbuddy as a Junior Software Engineer and build your career in a remote-first, collaborative environment. Work on real projects, learn from senior mentors, and grow your skills in modern web technologies. Full Description We are looking for a motivated Junior Software Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team at Hiredbuddy. In this entry-level role, you will work closely with senior developers and product managers to design, build, and maintain software solutions that power our platform. You'll gain hands-on experience with modern web technologies, collaborate on cross-functional projects, and contribute to the entire software development lifecycle—from requirement gathering to deployment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone eager to grow their skills in a supportive, remote-first environment. Key Responsibilities Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code in languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python. Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices. Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic. Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and share knowledge. Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and performance issues. Write and execute unit and integration tests. Assist in the design and implementation of database schemas and queries. Work with version control systems like Git and follow agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban). Document code and technical processes for internal use. Stay updated with emerging technologies and suggest improvements. Your Growth Path We believe in investing in our junior engineers. You will be paired with a senior mentor who will guide your technical development and help you navigate your career path. You'll have access to a personalized learning plan, internal workshops, and a budget for external courses and certifications. As you gain confidence and experience, you'll take on more complex features, lead small projects, and eventually advance to a mid-level engineer role. Our Tech Stack We use a modern stack including React, Node.js, PostgreSQL, and AWS. You'll have the chance to work with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines. While we don't expect you to know everything, a strong foundation in at least one programming language and a willingness to learn are essential. Remote Culture Hiredbuddy is a fully remote company. We value clear communication, collaboration, and work-life balance. You'll have the freedom to work from anywhere in the US, with flexible hours. We use tools like Slack, Zoom, and Jira to stay connected. Regular virtual coffee breaks and team-building activities keep our culture vibrant. What We Offer This is a full-time, permanent position with a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, and a supportive environment. You'll be part of a team that values innovation, ownership, and continuous learning. If you're passionate about software development and want to grow your career in a collaborative setting, we'd love to hear from you.
