SENIOR FINANCIAL ANALYST Toronto, ON | Full-Time, Onsite | 12-Month Contract HR Associates is recruiting for a Senior Financial Analyst on behalf of a public sector organization in Toronto. This is a hands-on role for an experienced finance professional who is highly skilled in Sage Intacct, financial reporting, Excel modelling, budgeting and forecasting. The successful candidate will also play an important role in improving finance processes, reporting tools and system functionality. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys digging into systems and processes, identifying opportunities for improvement, and building practical solutions that can be sustained by the organization over the long term. What You’ll Do Develop and enhance Sage Intacct reports and dashboards, including financial and custom reporting. Build reporting across areas such as purchasing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking, projects, general ledger and related finance functions. Design and automate data uploads and processes within Sage Intacct to improve accuracy, efficiency and timeliness. Review and improve Sage Intacct modules, workflows, approvals, permissions and financial controls. Support enhancements to project and contract management processes within Sage Intacct. Develop Excel-based models for budgeting, rolling forecasts, financial analysis, variance analysis and management reporting. Review existing finance processes and identify opportunities to streamline and reduce manual work. Develop practical reporting, budgeting and forecasting tools that can be maintained by internal staff. Document workflows, procedures and user guides to support knowledge transfer. Work closely with Finance, Procurement, project teams and other internal stakeholders to gather requirements, troubleshoot issues and implement improvements. What You Bring Strong hands-on experience working with Sage Intacct is essential. Advanced Excel skills, including financial modelling and analysis. Strong experience with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and financial reporting. Experience developing or improving finance systems, processes, workflows and reporting. Ability to translate business and finance requirements into practical system solutions. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders. Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of projects from analysis through implementation. Experience documenting processes and supporting knowledge transfer.
