Combined with our vast network and extraordinary customer-centric approach, we are the obvious choice in helping you find your next home. Humans of HR is working with an established organization that is undergoing a significant accounting and systems transformation and is looking for an experienced, hands-on Accounting Manager to help drive the team through this next phase. This is an opportunity for a CPA who thrives on closing books across many entities, and who is energized by modernizing how accounting gets done. It would suit an experienced Accounting Manager looking for a new challenge, or a strong Senior Accountant ready to step up. The organization is investing heavily in technology, automation and AI-enabled processes to modernize its accounting operations and reduce manual workflows. This role will be an important part of helping the accounting team adapt to those changes. What You’ll Be Doing: Take hands-on ownership of month-end and year-end close across a large portfolio of entities Ensure books are accurately closed, reconciled and reported on a consistent, timely schedule Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and ensure accurate financial reporting Work alongside and guide a small, close-knit accounting team, coaching and supporting junior and intermediate staff Review accounting processes and identify opportunities for greater efficiency and automation Support the rollout of new accounting systems, technology and AI-enabled processes Help the team adapt to significant process and systems changes Establish stronger, more consistent accounting procedures, documentation and controls Work closely with senior leadership on accounting priorities and process improvements Take an active role in improving workflows and reducing manual administrative work What We’re Looking For: CPA designation, with strong Canadian accounting experience Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience Strong full-cycle accounting experience, including month-end and year-end close Proven experience managing high-volume closes across multiple entities, for example from public practice, an outsourced or fractional accounting firm, or a multi-entity group Strong technical accounting and problem-solving skills Comfortable being hands-on in a flat, fast-moving environment Experience mentoring or guiding accounting professionals Strong technology skills, including comfort moving between different accounting platforms (e.g., QuickBooks Online or similar), plus a real interest in automation, AI and modern accounting systems Someone who is curious, adaptable and excited by transformation rather than resistant to it Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, can-do attitude At Humans of HR, we support the development and growth of our candidates to reach their full potential. If you are thinking about your next career move and the above role is just the right fit, please send us your resume along with a cover letter in confidence and one of our consultants will be in touch for a confidential discussion.
