We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established client in the Greater Vancouver area, in the manufacturing space, for an Operations Manager to join their leadership team. This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing day-to-day operations across production and finishing, with accountability for safety, quality, throughput, and team performance on the floor. You'll lead a group of supervisors, lead hands, and maintenance and production staff, and be the driving force behind operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Lead daily production meetings, operational planning, and process improvement work Set priorities, track performance, and hold the team accountable to safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets Coach and develop supervisors, lead hands, and production staff, including performance management, cross-training, and succession planning Support hiring and workforce planning to make sure the right people are in the right roles Work with scheduling to build and execute production plans that hit customer commitments Identify and resolve bottlenecks, capacity constraints, and workflow inefficiencies Build recovery plans (schedule changes, overtime, reallocation) when delivery timelines are at risk Oversee preventive maintenance planning to keep equipment production-ready Run regular floor walks and audits to check on safety, quality, and housekeeping standards Keep production, labour, and quality data accurate and current in the ERP system Bring forward recommendations and solutions to leadership, not just problems What You Bring Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing or industrial production environment Strong people-management skills, with experience coaching and developing supervisors or team leads Technical background in fabrication, machining, or a related manufacturing process Comfortable using ERP systems and Excel to analyze capacity, labour efficiency, and delivery data Experience driving lean manufacturing, 5S, or continuous improvement initiatives Strong planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Knowledge of cutting, forming, or coating processes is an asset What's on Offer A stable, well-established employer with long-term growth potential A supportive, team-oriented culture that values quality and continuous improvement The chance to make a real impact in a hands-on leadership role Opportunities to grow your career within a larger organization At Humans of HR, we support the development and growth of our candidates to reach their full potential.
