Position Details Job Title: In-Room Dining Server Department: Food & Beverage / In-Room Dining Reports To: Assistant Food & Beverage Services Manager Employment Status: Full-Time Compensation Starting Rate: $17.60 per hour during the probationary period Post-Probation Rate: $19.40 per hour upon successful completion of probation Eligible for gratuities in accordance with hotel policies and applicable legislation. Job Summary The In-Room Dining Server is responsible for providing prompt, professional, and courteous food and beverage service to guests in their guestrooms while ensuring an exceptional guest experience that reflects Hyatt standards. Qualifications Minimum one (1) year of food and beverage service experience in a hotel, restaurant, or hospitality environment preferred. Valid Smart Serve Certification required. Food Handler Certification is an asset. Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Basic computer and cash handling skills. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Ability to push, pull, and lift items required to perform the duties of the position. Key Responsibilities Deliver food and beverages to guestrooms in a timely and professional manner. Ensure all orders meet established quality and presentation standards. Contact guests following delivery to confirm satisfaction and address concerns. Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, trays, carts, and service areas. Take guest orders by phone using professional telephone etiquette. Accurately process guest checks, room charges, cash transactions, and credit card payments. Maintain knowledge of menus, daily specials, promotions, and beverage offerings. Ensure all alcohol service complies with Smart Serve guidelines and Ontario liquor regulations. Collect used trays and dishware from guest floors and service areas. Complete opening, closing, and side duties as assigned. Follow all health and safety policies, food safety procedures, and hotel standards. Report maintenance, safety, guest service, or workplace concerns to management promptly. Attend departmental meetings and training sessions as required. Perform other duties as assigned. Why Join Hyatt?
