Description Build the future with us As part of the national team at the Disability Service Center, the Litigation Specialist will manage a portfolio of litigation and dispute cases in partnership with the legal department of iA Financial Group and external attorneys. The specialist also supports the Service Center’s professionals, representatives, and clients by providing guidance on managing complex cases and answering questions. What You’ll Accomplish With Us As a litigation specialist, you will be responsible for: Conducting in-depth analyses of all litigation cases and recommending appropriate resolutions; Working with legal partners to manage litigation cases until their resolution; Representing the company during discovery, mediation, arbitration, and trials; Representing the company in Small Claims Court (Quebec only); Promoting adherence to best practices in decision-making and disability management; Serving on committees, participating in projects, and performing other tasks as needed; Serve as a liaison between the Sales Department and related departments regarding inquiries and legal matters; As needed, assist other disability specialists; Manage requests for access to information; Process or assist colleagues with lump-sum settlement offers. What Could Help You Succeed In This Role We are looking for someone who: A college degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience At least 5 years of experience in roles related to managing disability insurance claims in the group insurance sector In-depth knowledge of insurance contracts In-depth knowledge of disability management and related tools Strong commitment to customer service Ability to work independently and manage tight deadlines Advanced proficiency in French and English, due to frequent interactions with English- and French-speaking internal and external partners across Canada LOMA and NIDMAR courses are a plus Why will you enjoy working with us?
