We work directly with sprinkler contractors and installers to support the design, estimating, and delivery of fire protection systems. The Opportunity We are looking for an experienced Fire Sprinkler Design Engineer / Designer to work with our team as an independent contractor on a project by project basis. The primary focus of this role will be supporting sprinkler system design, as well as preparing estimates and material take offs for projects that we are bidding. Responsibilities • Prepare fire sprinkler system designs and layouts for building projects • Perform hydraulic calculations and sprinkler system design analysis • Review architectural, mechanical, and other relevant project drawings • Prepare material take offs and estimates for projects during the bidding process • Review project specifications and applicable codes and standards • Coordinate design requirements with sprinkler contractors and installers • Provide design and technical support throughout the project • Prepare clear and accurate design documentation for construction and estimating purposes Qualifications and Experience • Demonstrated experience in fire sprinkler system design • Strong working knowledge of NFPA 13 and applicable fire protection codes and standards • Experience with hydraulic calculations and sprinkler system layouts • Experience preparing material take offs and project estimates • Proficiency with relevant design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, HydraCAD, or equivalent • Ability to independently manage design work and meet project deadlines • Experience working directly with sprinkler contractors or installers is an asset • Engineering designation or relevant technical experience in fire protection is an asset Position Details Engagement: Independent Contractor Work: Project based Location: British Columbia Scope: Sprinkler design, engineering support, estimating, and material take offs We are looking for someone with practical industry experience who can work independently and provide reliable design and estimating support on active projects.
