Our client, a successful Canadian and international organization located in Mississauga near the airport, is seeking a hands-on Senior Consultant, Financial Accounting & Reporting for a contract engagement. This role is ideal for a designated accounting professional with strong operational accounting experience and a proven track record in month-end and year-end close, financial reporting, and financial statement preparation. Duration: 6 months Contract Location: Mississauga, ON Work Arrangement: Hybrid – 4 days in office and 1 day working from home Responsibilities: Lead and execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end accounting and reporting activities. Prepare journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and supporting working papers. Prepare financial statements and related reporting schedules. Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records and reporting. Investigate accounting discrepancies and resolve outstanding reconciliation items. Support internal and external audits by preparing audit schedules, working papers, and supporting documentation. Review general ledger accounts and ensure transactions are recorded accurately and in the appropriate reporting period. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve accounting issues and meet reporting deadlines. Qualifications: CPA designation or equivalent professional accounting qualification required. Minimum 5 years of hands-on operational accounting and financial reporting experience. Strong experience with month-end and year-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation. Ability to work independently and deliver results in a hands-on contract role. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work onsite in Mississauga 4 days per week.
