Senior Business Analyst, AI & Data Solutions (1-Year Contract) Toronto, ON | Hybrid (2 days on site, 3 remote) | Start: ASAP About the opportunity Our client, a leading Canadian financial institution, is looking for a Senior Business Analyst to join a 7-person team building enterprise data and AI solutions. You will support active internal development projects in a highly regulated environment. This is a strong move for anyone aiming at a Product Owner or Product Manager path on the AI side. What you’ll do Partner with technical and business stakeholders to define requirements and turn complex technical concepts into clear business language Write and maintain technical documentation and roadmaps Work in an Agile delivery model alongside data and AI engineers Analyze and query data using SQL and Python Use Microsoft Copilot and other AI tools in day-to-day delivery Hit deliverables and timelines with high quality Must-have 5+ years of risk management experience in financial services or healthcare (highly regulated environments) 5+ years as a Business or Data Analyst with a Bachelor’s degree, or 3+ years with a Master’s Working knowledge of project management concepts and Agile (documentation, roadmapping) Strong technical writing skills Ability to read and write Python and SQL Hands-on experience with Jira, Confluence, Clarity, and SharePoint Experience with Microsoft Copilot Degree or diploma required (Master’s preferred, ideally in Computer Science, Business Analytics, Data Science, or AI) Nice-to-have AI, Data Science, or Cloud certifications Data science background Soft skills Excellent written and verbal communication Well organized with strong time management Flexible and comfortable with varied day-to-day work Comfortable in a meeting-heavy, collaborative environment Why this role Great work culture and a real chance to build your network Hands-on exposure to enterprise AI work Onboarding, knowledge transfer, and shadowing up front Contract extension and conversion are possible, based on business needs and performance Details Duration: 1 year, full time (37.5 hrs/week, Mon to Fri, core business hours) Interview: 1 round, virtual, 1 hour, covering technical and soft skills
