(CONTRACT) – Professional, Engineering – Air Systems/Pneumatics Role Overview — What You'll Bring to the Team In this position, you'll take ownership of pneumatic systems engineering, contributing across the full lifecycle of system definition, development, testing, and certification. You'll collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure seamless system integration and technical alignment. Your responsibilities will include: Leading engineering activities related to pneumatic systems, acting as a key technical reference for the discipline. Coordinating system interfaces and integration with multiple engineering groups and suppliers. Developing system concepts and architectures, defining requirements, and performing trade studies and functional analyses. Managing requirements, verification, and validation activities throughout the program. Overseeing suppliers from both a technical and project standpoint. Reviewing and approving engineering deliverables such as drawings, qualification reports, test plans, and certification documents. Analyzing data from ground and flight tests and documenting results. Preparing technical documentation demonstrating compliance with certification standards. Supporting the setup, operation, and troubleshooting of test rigs and flight-test platforms. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams to resolve design challenges and refine system definitions. Preparing and implementing design changes and optimized engineering solutions. Assisting production and in-service teams with system-related issues. Ensuring project milestones and schedules are met. Contributing to internal engineering knowledge bases and continuous improvement initiatives. What Helps You Succeed in This Role A bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering. Around 5 to 15 years of relevant engineering experience, ideally within the aerospace sector. Strong understanding of thermodynamics and fluid dynamics. Ability to quickly grasp complex technical issues and apply solid analytical and problem-solving skills. Foundational knowledge of pneumatic systems and awareness of related disciplines (installation, avionics, propulsion, etc.). Familiarity with environmental and component qualification standards (e.g., DO-160, MIL-STD-810). Understanding of development assurance processes such as ARP4754A. Experience with system modelling, performance analysis, or simulation tools. Comfortable balancing technical depth with project coordination responsibilities. Proficiency with standard office tools and exposure to model-based engineering or simulation environments. A collaborative mindset and the ability to build strong working relationships. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to convey technical information clearly. Willingness to travel occasionally for short assignments. Bilingualism (French/English) is considered an asset. A Note for Applicants You're not expected to match every single qualification listed. We value talent, adaptability, and initiative — if you bring strong potential and resourcefulness, we want to hear from you.
