Job summary
Base salary: $95,000 | On-site The Partnership Fund for New York City is seeking an Investment Associate with ~2 years of investment banking or equivalent financial experience who is interested in pivoting into impact investing and social impact while continuing to do rigorous, institutional-quality investment work. The Partnership Fund is the evergreen investment arm of the Partnership for New York City, founded by Henry Kravis. Since inception, the Fund has invested $200+ million across venture, growth, and structured investments that strengthen New York City’s economy. The Fund focuses on mission-driven, for-profit investments, particularly technology and innovation that generate measurable economic and social impact alongside financial returns. The Role This is a hands-on, end-to-end investing role, offering meaningful responsibility from day one: Build and sensitize detailed financial models Conduct investment diligence with senior investment professionals and external experts Prepare investment and Board memoranda Support deal execution and portfolio monitoring Contribute to sourcing, research, and fund-level initiatives, including PFNYC’s innovation labs Associates work in a lean team environment, gaining broad exposure across sectors, business models, and public-private partnerships. Candidate Profile Approximately 2 years of experience involving in-depth financial analysis and valuation Most commonly from investment banking analyst programs, though other rigorous financial roles are acceptable Strong analytical, modeling, and written communication skills Interest in applying core finance skills to impact investing and social impact, rather than purely transactional advisory work Comfortable operating with responsibility and judgment in a small, high-expectations team Why This Role This position is ideally suited for candidates looking to transition from traditional investment banking into impact investing without sacrificing rigor, responsibility, or credibility. Impact disclaimer: this is not charity or grant-making—capital discipline, downside protection, and financial performance matter. Lifestyle & Structure Hours are demanding at times but meaningfully more sustainable than investment banking Culture emphasizes judgment, quality of thinking, and long-term impact over face time On-site in New York City 2-3-year position, designed for depth, continuity, and professional development Compensation & Benefits Base salary: $95,000 Excellent benefits package including medical, dental, 401(k), commuter benefits, and paid time off Apply Interested candidates should apply here: https://partnershipfornyc.typeform.com/to/PeVKs8tp The Partnership for New York City is deeply committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all individuals without regard to age, race, creed, color, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, transgender or intersex status, military status, sex, disability, predisposing genetic characteristics, marital status, familial status, caregiver status, domestic violence victim status and intern status or any other characteristic or status protected by applicable law.
