IRC’s goal is to continually improve the economic, social and cultural wellbeing of the Inuvialuit through implementation of the IFA and by all other available means. Through strong partnerships and community‑driven programs, the organization supports economic growth, cultural preservation and opportunities for current and future generations. Inuvialuit beneficiaries directly control IRC and its subsidiaries through a democratic process of elected directors from each of the six community corporations with chairs at the IRC Board, a process originally outlined in the IFA. JOB SUMMARY The Accounting Officer is responsible for processing accounts payable by ensuring timely entry and payment of invoices, managing documentation, and addressing any issues or inquiries. The role is indeterminate and term, also includes providing financial and accounting support for various projects, responding to internal and external inquiries, assisting with audits, reconciling bank statements, and maintaining confidentiality. The officer helps improve processes and supports team efforts in accounting and across ICG. Please note we are seeking to fill two positions: one indeterminate position and one one-year term position that may be extended. QUALIFICATIONS Applicants must be/have: Grade 12 or equivalent. One year of related work experience or 2-3 years in a non-accounting financial role. Preference may be given to candidates with the following: Experience with accounts payable and receivable processes, ideally within a team environment working with a variety of clients or stakeholder groups.
