POSITION TYPE: Indeterminate SCHEDULE: Full-time (75 hours bi-weekly) COMPETITION CLOSE DATE: Open Until Filled ABOUT INUVIALUIT REGIONAL CORPORATION (IRC) Established in 1984 to manage the settlement outlined in the Inuvialuit Final Agreement (IFA), Inuvialuit Regional Corporation (IRC) represents the collective interests of Inuvialuit. IRC’s goal is to continually improve the economic, social and cultural wellbeing of the Inuvialuit through implementation of the IFA and by all other available means. Through strong partnerships and community‑driven programs, the organization supports economic growth, cultural preservation and opportunities for current and future generations. Inuvialuit beneficiaries directly control IRC and its subsidiaries through a democratic process of elected directors from each of the six community corporations with chairs at the IRC Board, a process originally outlined in the IFA. JOB SUMMARY The Manager, Governance is responsible for coordinating and administering corporate governance processes, board and committee operations, and related corporate records. Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, the position supports effective governance practices, timely and accurate decision-making materials, compliance with applicable requirements, and consistent follow-up on governance actions. The Manager also provides practical governance support to IRC entities and community corporations, with attention to Indigenous governance practices and community needs. QUALIFICATIONS Applicants must be/have: A diploma or degree in business administration, governance, legal studies, public administration or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in corporate governance, legal administration, corporate records, or board and committee operations. Working knowledge of Indigenous governance practices, community engagement and the governance context of Indigenous organizations. Strong organizational, written communication, judgement, discretion and relationship-management skills. Preference may be given to candidates with the following: Governance, corporate administration, legal assistant, paralegal or related professional training. ARP, GPC.D or comparable credentials. Inuvialuit beneficiary status or lived experience in the Inuvialuit Settlement Region. Certification in Indigenous governance, project management, or nonprofit leadership. Experience working with Indigenous organizations or in Northern Canada.
