Director, Business Development Hybrid in Vancouver, BC The company A fast-scaling Vancouver technology company in the climate and sustainability space, backed and growing quickly, selling into large enterprise accounts. Small enough that you'll build things, big enough that you're not starting from zero. We're running this search confidentially, happy to share full details on a first call. The role Own new customer acquisition end-to-end. You'll lead the outbound BD org, including its Team Leads and own the strategy, the systems, and the numbers behind every net-new customer that walks through the door. Three motions sit under you: strategic enterprise accounts, a grants and philanthropic channel, and traditional outbound into new verticals. You'll inherit a team that already performs and an engine that already works. Your job is to grow it, not resuscitate it. What you'll own Leading and developing the Team Leads, plus hiring, onboarding, ramp and performance across a growing team Outbound GTM strategy and the account-based targeting framework Comp architecture, base and variable, meeting and pipeline bonuses, Team Lead structures The outbound pipeline forecast and the methodology behind it The AI and GTM engineering agenda: AI-powered prospecting, enrichment, automated reporting, and agentic outreach workflows that lift per-rep output Sequence library, playbooks, enablement, and clean handoffs to AEs Personally advancing a handful of strategic, high-value accounts Who this is for You cut your teeth in B2B enterprise sales and deliberately moved to startups. You've seen how the grown-ups do it and you know what's worth keeping You've worked in a startup and liked it. Ambiguity doesn't rattle you, it's where you do your best work You make calls without waiting for permission, and you're comfortable being wrong occasionally in exchange for moving fast You've led managers, not just reps You think in pipeline math. You can model touch to meeting to qualified pipeline to ACV, and you're usually right You're already building with AI. Agents doing outreach, enrichment and reporting isn't a someday thing for you, it's how you already work You've designed comp and incentive structures, or you're itching to You genuinely care about the environmental side of this. It won't survive the interview if you don't Bonus points Sold into CSR, ESG or sustainability buyers, or any budget where the champion isn't the economic buyer Clay, n8n, HubSpot, or similar in your daily kit Grants, foundations, or corporate philanthropy exposure
