We are currently seeking a 3rd Class Power Engineer to join our JBS Team located in Brooks, Alberta Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Ensure total care and control of the Boiler Room and associate ancillary equipment Ensure total care and control of a large ammonia refrigerated plant Ensure daily plant inspection of ammonia refrigeration and boiler systems and that all systems are operating in a safe and efficient manner Ensure the recording of data and all relevant information to the operation of the plant under the Chief Engineer’s jurisdiction Have a bias for action to reduce energy consumption be it gas, electricity, water, and ammonia usage Qualifications And Requirements Valid (ABSA Certified) 3rd Class Power Engineering certificate A minimum 2 years of industrial experience is required Proven team leader, team player, committed to excellence, and positive attitude Knowledge of Ammonia refrigeration systems and natural gas fired steam boiler systems Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Please note that Applicants may be subject to drug and alcohol testing.
