JELD-WEN is currently seeking an HR Generalist to join our team. External Job Description This individual will report directly to the HR Director and will be responsible for managing and executing many of the day-to-day HR functions of Winnipeg facility. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Comply with JELD-WEN EH&S requirements, legal requirements including Company policies Understand and assist in the administration of requirements outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement relating to all unionized employees Assess internal JELD-WEN, Inc. policies, programs, and procedures, and inform employees and management on the interpretation of them Perform professional level human resources work and execute responsibilities in areas such as staffing, employee relations, compensation, training, employment, labour relations, safety, recruitment and onboarding Review bi-weekly payroll runs, vacation and attendance tracking using a digital timekeeping system Manage disability claims by partnering with Corporate Benefits Ensure that programs are carried out in accordance with Company's policies and procedures Analyze and advise supervisors and managers to resolve employee relations issues and concerns Draft presentations to explain the purpose and goal and to seek compliance and understanding of Human Resources policies Conduct research to determine the effectiveness of personnel programs and policies Develop and propose improvements to policies, programs, systems and procedures to improve the effectiveness of Human Resources and operations May be responsible for implementing and evaluating revised human resources policies Other tasks and duties as required Competencies: Analytical: Compile and analyze data accurately and in a timely manner Problem Solving: Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; gather and analyze information skillfully; develop alternative solutions Detail Orientation: Strong ability to provide accurate detail in analysis Collaborative: Work well in unison with all levels of associates Customer Service: Respond promptly to internal and external customer needs; respond to requests for service and assistance Change Management: Build commitment and overcome resistance Leadership: Exhibit confidence in self and others; effectively influence actions and opinions of others Ethics: Treat people with respect; work ethically and with integrity; uphold organizational values Strategic Thinking: Support strategies to achieve organizational goals; analyze market data; adapt to changing conditions Negotiation skills Excellent people management skills Strong presentation and public speaking skills Qualification: Post-Secondary degree (Preference with a Human Resources specification) Previous experience in a unionized manufacturing environment would be an asset Adept at employee relations at all levels and conducting investigations to closure Strong analytical skills, possess excellent communication skills Focused time management and organizational skills are necessary in this position. In addition, candidates should be solution oriented, result-driven, and possess the ability to cultivate business relationships.
