This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Data Editor based in Canada. In this role, you will work at the intersection of science, data, and technology, helping transform complex scientific information into reliable digital resources. You will acquire, evaluate, curate, and validate scientific datasets used across databases, software platforms, APIs, and information products. Your work will directly support the accuracy, completeness, and usability of scientific information relied upon by customers and researchers. You will collaborate closely with scientists, product managers, software engineers, and external contributors in an international, cross-functional environment. Beyond maintaining data quality, you will help shape editorial priorities and identify content opportunities aligned with customer needs and product objectives. It is an excellent opportunity for a scientifically trained professional who enjoys combining analytical thinking, attention to detail, and technology. \n Accountabilities: Curate, validate, and maintain high-quality scientific datasets and metadata for digital scientific products. Evaluate scientific content in the context of customer workflows, product requirements, and established scientific best practices. Develop editorial plans and establish content priorities based on customer needs and broader product and business objectives. Acquire, organize, and manage scientific content from internal and external sources. Collaborate with scientists, product managers, software engineers, commercial teams, and external contributors to support product development and releases. Identify inconsistencies, anomalies, and data quality issues and take appropriate action to improve the reliability of scientific information. Contribute to the continuous improvement of editorial processes, data quality standards, and scalable content management practices. Support the evolution of scientific information products by connecting data quality and editorial decisions with customer needs and workflows. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Spectroscopy, Materials Science, Chemical Information Science, Life Sciences, or a related scientific discipline. Foundational knowledge of spectroscopy and analytical chemistry gained through academic coursework, laboratory work, research projects, internships, or equivalent experience. Experience working with scientific data, including data analysis, validation, interpretation, or quality assessment. Familiarity with Python, R, MATLAB, or similar tools for scientific data analysis. Familiarity with structured scientific data formats such as CSV, XML, JSON, JCAMP-DX, SDF, or similar formats. Understanding of Agile or iterative project delivery practices and willingness to work within Agile product development teams. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify inconsistencies, anomalies, and data quality issues. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with international, multidisciplinary, and cross-functional teams. Experience with analytical techniques such as IR, Raman, NMR, UV-Vis, GC-MS, or LC-MS is a plus. Experience using Python data libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, or SciPy is desirable. Familiarity with Jira, Azure DevOps, GitHub, or similar project and issue tracking tools is an advantage. Experience with scientific databases, reference data collections, laboratory information systems, or scientific software is a plus. Undergraduate research, co-op, internship, or professional experience involving scientific data management or data-intensive projects is desirable.
