Job details

Job Description About the Role: Do you have a degree in Geography or Urban Planning? AI models power the maps we use every day for delivery and travel, but they often struggle to understand the real world. At TELUS Digital, we are looking for Geography enthusiasts to be the "eyes on the ground" for our AI. You will look at satellite images and maps to make sure the AI is identifying roads, buildings, and landmarks correctly. You help the AI understand exactly where things are. What You’ll Do (Simple Tasks): Confirming Landmarks: Look at a photo from space and tell the AI: "Yes, that is a hospital," or "No, that is actually a shopping mall." Route Checking: Look at a map and make sure the AI isn't suggesting a route that is impossible (like driving a car through a park or a walking path). Naming Places: Use your local knowledge to make sure the AI is using the correct names for neighborhoods, streets, and natural features in your region. Environmental Tagging: Help the AI identify things like forests, rivers, or new construction sites on a map. Qualification path Mandatory Qualifications: Education: A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Geography, Urban Planning, or Environmental Science. Native Language: Native-level proficiency in your primary language. You know your local area better than any global map does. English Proficiency: Basic (B1) English to communicate with our project team. Visual Accuracy: You are good at reading maps and recognizing shapes and patterns in satellite photos. Assessment: In order to be hired into our community, you’ll go through a subject-specific qualification exam that will determine your suitability for the position and complete ID verification. Payment: Currently, pay rates for experts range from $18 - $50 USD per hour Our Payment terms are defined for each project. Why Join the TELUS Digital AI Community: Community Connection: Work remotely as part of a 1M+ diverse global AI Community of contributors and experts. Impactful Expertise: Use your native language and academic degree to shape real-world AI systems and products used by millions every day. Hands-on Innovation: Gain experience in the latest AI research, evaluation, and fine-tuning methodologies. Global Collaboration: Collaborate with a network of specialists across 20+ domains and 500+ languages and dialects. Flexible Engagement: Manage your own schedule while making a meaningful impact on the future of technology. TELUS Digital AI Community Our global AI Community is a vibrant network of more than one million contributors from diverse backgrounds who help customers collect, enhance, train, translate, and localize content to build better AI models. Become part of our growing community and contribute to the development of innovative AI technologies used by some of the world's largest brands. Contributors have the flexibility to choose when and how much they work, subject to project availability and quality requirements. This opportunity is not and should not be construed as creating an employment relationship with TELUS Digital.
