The** Catholic Independent Schools of the Vancouver Archdiocese ** (the CISVA) operates 46 schools – 40 elementary and 6 high schools. JOB DESCRIPTION
St. Bernadette Catholic Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Grade 5 teacher for a 0.80 FTE position (Monday to Thursday). This position has the potential to turn into a continuing contract for new teachers.
We are a warm, faith-filled school community committed to supporting the growth of the whole child—academically, socially, and spiritually. We are looking for a teacher who is passionate about teaching, values collaboration, and is eager to be part of a supportive and caring staff.
The successful candidate will:
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to Catholic education and faith formation
- Be a collaborative team player who contributes positively to school culture
- Foster a caring and inclusive classroom environment
- Be willing to support and participate in extracurricular activities, particularly athletics and school sports programs
- Have familiarity with the BC Curriculum (preferred)

On an on-going basis, we accept teacher applications for grade levels K to 12 for our Catholic schools throughout the Greater Vancouver Area and Powell River in beautiful British Columbia. All Catholics, non-Catholics, new education grads, and experienced teachers from across Canada are strongly encouraged to apply. Our major hiring season is in April for the following school year, but we recommend that you apply now as we receive an influx of applications.
