Business Development Manager
About the role
The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying, developing, and growing new business opportunities while strengthening relationships with existing clients. This role focuses on driving revenue growth by promoting Brunel's recruitment, workforce solutions, and project services across key industries.
The successful candidate is a proactive, commercially driven professional who enjoys building long-term partnerships, understanding client challenges, and delivering tailored talent solutions that create value.
Key Responsibilities
Identify, target, and secure new business opportunities within assigned markets and industries. Develop and execute strategic business development plans to achieve revenue and growth targets. Build and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers, hiring managers, procurement teams, and executive stakeholders. Conduct market research to identify emerging opportunities, industry trends, and competitor activity. Lead the full sales cycle from prospecting and qualification through proposal development, negotiation, and contract close. Collaborate closely with recruitment teams to deliver high-quality talent solutions that meet client expectations. Maintain an active pipeline of qualified opportunities using the company's CRM system. Prepare sales forecasts, business reports, and pipeline updates for management. Participate in networking events, industry conferences, and client meetings to enhance Brunel's market presence. Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual requirements, and relevant employment legislation. Work collaboratively across internal teams to ensure exceptional client service and successful delivery.
Experience
1–5 years of business development, sales, or account management experience. Experience within recruitment, staffing, workforce solutions, engineering services, or a related B2B environment is highly desirable. Demonstrated success in achieving or exceeding sales targets. Experience managing complex client relationships and negotiating commercial agreements.
