Salary: $18.00/ per hour

This position is funded by the CSJ program. Please note succesfull candidates must be:
-
Between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;

Be a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act;

Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment; and
-
Be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
International students are not elifible for the CSJ program

What qualifications are we looking for?
We strive to ensure our employees are a fit based on their strengths, interests, and future goals. The successful candidate will have the following:
Education:
-
Currently enrolled in or recently completed a post-secondary program in Marketing, Communications, Business, Event Management, or a related field.
-
Coursework or projects related to marketing, sales, fundraising, event planning, or sponsorship are an asset.
Experience
-
Experience (paid or volunteer) supporting events, campaigns, or community initiatives.
-
Experience in event planning, fundraising, business administration, sales or nonprofit work preferred.
-
Exposure to customer service, sales, or relationship-building roles.
-
Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks and timelines.
-
Confident communicating with a variety of audiences in a friendly and professional way.
-
Experience working in a team environment and taking initiative when needed.
Qualifications:
- Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and community partners.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; specifically excel. Experience with donor databases or CRM systems a plus.
- Commitment to the YMCA’s mission and values.
What does this role look like at YMCA Calgary?
Duties and responsibilities include·
- Assist in planning, organizing, and executing fundraising events, campaigns, and community outreach activities.
- Support sponsorship recruitment by researching potential partners, preparing outreach materials, and soliciting sponsorship support.
- Maintain accurate records of sponsors.
- Coordinate and track sponsorship fulfillment, including recognition, signage, and post-event follow-up such as reporting and acknowledgments.
- Provide on-site support at events to ensure successful execution.
- Help create event planning timelines for future events and initiatives.
- Assist with post-event evaluations, sponsor stewardship, and relationship building.
