As the Leader, Information Technology (IT), End User Computing, within the End User Solutions Division, you will provide business and technical leadership to staff and support IT services for clients by overseeing the day-to-day operations of End User Computing, which specializes in endpoint and cloud technologies. This role is responsible for setting strategic direction, ensuring reliable service delivery, and leading both operational and transformational initiatives that support a large, complex endpoint computing environment. Primary duties include:
- Provide leadership to a diverse team of exempt and unionized IT professionals, including workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, coaching, employee development, and performance management.
- Establish and communicate the strategic vision and roadmap for endpoint and cloud management services, ensuring alignment with IT's vision, mission, values, and divisional and corporate strategic plans.
- Oversee the operational management of a large-scale Windows 11 endpoint environment, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, sustainable, and meet business and client requirements.
- Research industry trends and best practices in endpoint and devices management, assess current capabilities, identify gaps and risks, and develop evidence-based recommendations and action plans.
- Manage vendor relationships and contracted services related to endpoint management, including participation in procurement and tendering processes, and ongoing management of contracts for services such as software packaging, image delivery, and managed endpoint services. Ensure vendors meet defined cost, schedule, quality, and performance expectations.
- Participate in the development of, and manage, annual operating and capital budgets, including forecasting, resource planning, financial commitments, and ongoing budget monitoring to ensure fiscal accountability.
- Redesign and continuously improve business processes, operational procedures, and technical documentation to improve service quality, efficiency, and auditability.
- Develop, monitor, and report on service and performance metrics to assess operational effectiveness, client satisfaction, risk, and compliance, and to support continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- A completed 2-year diploma in Business Administration or Information Technology with at least 10 years of related experience; OR
- A degree in Computer Science, Commerce, Business Administration, Math, Engineering, Bachelor of Science or a related degree with at least 8 years of related experience.
- Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered.
- Experience leading staff and supporting large scale end user computing, endpoint, or device management environments is required.
- Experience leading contractor delivered device management services that support those environments is required.
- Experience managing and maintaining large, multi-cloud environments, including Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Amazon Web Service (AWS) is also considered an asset.
- Experience applying Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) principles to support structured service delivery and operational governance in an enterprise environment is considered an asset.

Workstyle
- This position may be eligible to work from home for at least part of the time as one of several flexible work options available to City employees. These arrangements depend on the operational requirements of the role, employee suitability, and are subject to change based on operational needs and corporate direction.

- Compensation: Level M2 $133,088 - 166,260 per annum
- Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week.
- Days of work: This position works a 5-day work week with 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.
